Hilton Head Lakes set to host Reggae Run

The second annual Publix Lowcountry Roots, Rock & Reggae Run is set for Saturday evening at Hilton Head Lakes.

The Publix Lowcountry Roots, Rock & Reggae Run is a unique and colorful twilight run through Hilton Head Lakes in Hardeeville. The unique race format allows runners an opportunity to choose to participate in the 5k Roots Run at 5pm, the 10K Rock Run at 6pm or the 15k Reggae Run. ( combined time of both the 5K & 10K ) Participants who choose the 15K receive a tie-die and a tech t-shirt, all other participants receive a colorful tech t-shirt.

The format of the race, a twilight run, allows runners an opportunity to choose to participate in the 5K Roots Run at 5 p.m., the 10K Rock Run at 6 p.m., or the 15K Reggae Run, which uses the combined time of the 5 and 10Ks. All participants receive a tie-dyed T-shirt, plus those who choose the 15K receive an additional promo item. Pets, strollers and baby joggers are welcome in the 5K race only. All races are chip-timed.

The post-race SunSplash Party and award ceremony will feature reggae music, a craft beer garden and a food court with Caribbean favorites from Red Stripes and Okatie Ale House, and Cool Breeze Shaved Ice. A percentage of proceeds from the event will benefit Mental Health America of Beaufort/Jasper.
